AdrianneAlvarez
Master Class Instructor - Movement
Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Adrianne graduated with an MFA in Acting from Northern Illinois University. She has also studied extensively at the Old Globe Training Program in London and South Coast Repertory’s Professional Actor Training Program in Irvine.

Adrianne has performed professionally in dozens of shows including her favorite, The House of Bernarda Alba at The Mark Taper Forum. She has also been seen on television on such shows as Charmed and All My Children. Adrianne has taught Acting, Movement, and World-Theatre at the L.A. County High School for the Arts and is currently the head of the drama department at AGBU, a private high school located in the San Fernando Valley.

LaurenDunagan
Camp Staff - Movement/Acting
Lauren Dunagan began her professional acting career in St. Louis, Missouri, where she was born and raised, and there appeared recently in the roles of Portia in The Merchant of Venice, Kathryn in Henry V, and Aegius in Medea.

She moved to Los Angeles in the summer of 2006, after graduating from Stanford University with a B.A. in Drama. Favorite roles at Stanford include the lead in the American premiere of Edvard Radzinsky's, She: In Absence of Love and Death, Rhonda-Louise in Women of Manhattan, Arkadina in The Seagull: Act I, and Elizabeth in Laundry and Bourbon. In addition to her acting career, Ms. Dunagan works as an assistant first grade teacher at The Mirman School and runs an after-school drama class for 5, 6, and 7 year olds. DeObiaOparel
Master Class Instructor - Shakespeare
DeObia, born and raised in London, England started out in youth tackling the works of Chekhov, Brecht and Moliere. Before joining the Royal Shakespeare Company playing leading roles in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Faustus, and Cymbeline. More classical work at The Royal National Theatre followed, with leading roles in Troilus and Cressida and The White Devil. Film credits include, Le Chocolat in Moulin Rouge and Destroyer in the action flick, DOOM. Mr. Oparel has taught and directed workshops in Australia and Europe on Shakespeare, Theatre and Classical Drama.


NathanPerez
Master Class Instructor - Writing
Nathan established his theatrical career in New York City ten years ago. He has been seen in a wide variety of Regional and Off-Broadway theatre productions at prestigious venues such as The Ensemble Studio Theatre and The SoHo Repertory Theatre. He guest starred in such shows as Law & Order, SVU, and Law & Order CI, and had recurring roles on the daytime serials One Life to Live, As The World Turns, Guiding Light, and All My Children. He also co-starred in the Sci-Fi Original film, Alien Lockdown ,with legendary actor John Savage, which is airing now on the Sci-Fi Channel. In addition to his theatrical carrer, Nathan has also had two plays fully produced in New York, and a half dozen of his other works have received formal and staged readings. Nathan received his BFA from the University of Oklahoma and graduated in the same class as Discovery Onstage co-founder Jeremy Kent Jackson.


RachelKerbs
Summer Camp Staff – Improvisation/Acting
Rachel, originally from Katy, Texas, recently graduated with a BFA in Acting from the University of Oklahoma. She has enjoyed performing ever since she can remember and has especially enjoyed such roles as Elvira in Blithe Spirit, Abigail in The Crucible, and Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Some of her favorite regional credits include Shelby in Steel Magnolias and Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors. Ms. Kerbs has also been seen in several regional commercials and just finished starring in Splinter, a horror film due to come out later this year. Having been heavily involved with improvisation throughout her college career, she is especially excited to focus on the subject with DiscoveryOnstage students in the coming months.

Summer Camp Staff – Movement/Acting
Aries was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and, being a part of a military family, has lived in various parts of the United States from South Carolina to Hawaii. In December of 2002 she graduated from St. Edwards' University in Austin, Texas where she received her B.A. in Theatre Arts with an emphasis in Acting. St. Edwards' University Mary Moody Northern Theatre program ‘offers the only pre-professional undergraduate theater program of its kind in the United States.’ Designed for the student-artist, Ms. Sanders enjoyed the rare combination of conservatory and academic training along with the rigorous liberal arts curriculum that the school provided. During her time in Austin, Aries worked for Zach Scott Theatre in their Educational Theatre Department where she worked with and performed for audiences from grades K-6.

Summer Camp Staff/Year Round Staff – Music/Songwriting
Mr. Stubbs has logged over twenty years of continuous involvement in music by teaching children, composing in a wide range of contexts, and by performing in many concerts in the United States and overseas. He graduated magna cum laude from Southern Illinois University in Composition, Guitar, and Choral Performance. Mr. Stubbs performed for Disney’s “Operation Christmas” in Singapore and Jakarta and Disney’s “35th Anniversary Flight to Orlando”. He also performed a “Tribute to Aretha Franklin” at Shea Stadium and in warm-up acts for Count Basie and Jimmy Dorsey. Mr. Stubbs received a Platinum Record for backup vocals on Evanescence’s album “Fallen”. His composition credits include; the score for the YMCA’s Inclusion Program video; over 300 commercials for TGI (now Time-Warner) TV; the song “Fast Forward” signed with Quincy Jones; signed as song writer for Willard Alexander Agency; the song “Number Games” which aired on the “Dr. Demento” radio program; the score for the “People of Taiwan” and “Growing With Pride” videos for City of Hacienda Heights; and the underscoring for five live theatre projects for DiscoveryOnstage. Mr. Stubbs has taught music for SEEDS School, St. Rita School, Roosevelt, and San Rafael Schools, Pasadena Unified School District, and “Join the Band” of Van Nuys.

Keesha Hernandez is studying dance at Cal State L.A and is currently pursuing a degree in Theater Arts and Dance. She has been trained in jazz, ballet, modern and hip hop. She has worked with choreographers such as Natalia Morales Byles, Frit and Frat Fuller, G Madison IV, Hae Kyung Lee and Francisco Martinez. She has recently performed in Vox Lumiere's Hunchback of Notre Dame, Dancescape and Carnival.

Summer Camp Staff – Acting/Voice and Diction
Ben started his career in entertainment at the age of 10, where he performed alongside his father in the opera, Gianni Schicchi. Since then he has gone on to perform in theatre, television and film, often working alongside Tony and Emmy award-winning actors and directors. Ben is a graduate of the renowned Old Globe Theatre MFA program and was Director of the Acting for Film Undergraduate and MFA programs at the New York Film Academy at Universal Studios for five years. As a teacher, Ben's main areas of concentration have been voice and diction work as well as classical theatre, with an emphasis on Shakespeare. As a director and producer, Ben has won awards for his work in television, and his films have screened at festivals around the country. Some of his most recent projects include Too Many, which won its category at the Cinema City International Film Festival. Currently Ben is co-founder of Off Our Meds Multimedia, which has a full slate of commercial, television and film projects.

Michaelia began performing in musical theater at age 9. Since then she has had the opportunity to sing and act on numerous Southern California stages, as well as Europe and the Mediterranean. She has won multiple awards for her work on stage and is an experienced choreographer, teacher and director. In 2008 she placed in the top 5 in the competition for LA's Next Stage Star. She is a published poet, and in 2001 her original play ...And the Killer Is was produced and performed.

AndrewAmani
Summer Camp Staff - Acting/Stage Combat
Andrew Amani graduated with a BA in Theater from Columbia College Chicago. He is an award winning Actor, Dancer, Stage Combatant and Athlete. Mr. Amani received the Joseph Jefferson Citation for “Best Ensemble” in Defiant Theatre’s “Action Movie: The Play” and nominated for “Best Ensemble” with Redmoon Theater’s “Hunchback” playing the role of Quasimodo. Other accolades include The Camel Caravan Lindy Hop Dance Championships as a dancer, Founder’s Award and Examiner’s Awards for Unarmed, Rapier & Dagger and Broadsword as a stage combatant bestowed by the Society of American Fight Directors. As an athlete, he received a gold medal in ice hockey at the 1986 Asian Games and played professional beach volleyball. Highlights of his performance work include working with: Trap Door Theater (Resident Choreographer); Redmoon Theater; Plasticene Physical Theater Company; Defiant Theatre, Factory Theatre, Lyric Opera w/Mary Zimmerman in Chicago and Diavolo, Pirate’s Dinner Adventure, Theatricum Botanicum, The Theatre @ Boston Court, LA Opera, Disneyland and San Diego Opera in Southern California. Along with his acting abilities, Mr. Amani’s is also a stunt performer appearing in several television shows and movies. His fire stunt was featured on “History Channel’s: This Week in History (How to be a Stuntman)” and his sword work as Sun Tzu nemesis Neng Wa in “Art of War”. As an educator, Mr. Amani is a visiting Lecturer at the University of Illinois Chicago.
